Friday 29th September 2017

5.30pm – 11pm

Derby Festé kicks off on Friday night as Bass’ Recreation ground is transformed into a ‘World of Circus’ with a twist of Festé and a sprinkling of magic.

Enjoy the very first ‘Festé Food Village’ with street-food and drinks from around the world. Take in the beauty of the fire trail and encounter a carnival procession and circus acts along the way. The evening will build towards a show-stopping, daring and dangerous aerial performance by European company Gorilla Circus called ‘The Altitude Show’. Tickets for entry into Bass’s Rec are just £7 each and group bookings of 8 or more are just £5 each! So come along and enjoy.

A closer look at what’s on Friday evening:

Headline – Gorilla Circus – “Altitude”

Height, fear, freedom and adrenaline. This show-stopping, daring and dangerous aerial performance all takes place on a unique giant kinetic structure. The show blends the traditional with the unexpected. Flying trapeze, high wire and a host of other high altitude acts meet hydraulic arms and a structure that is as much a character and part of the show as the performers are!

Time: 8pm-9.30pm
Location: Bass’ Recreation Ground

Circus Geeks – “Project_Vee”

The show combines elements of classic street performance with unusual traditional circus inspired by a legendary Soviet circus act. Roulette wheel meets juggling: danger, skill and awe-inspiring moments. Aluminium, concrete and motors mix in an unlikely way; Project_Vee takes juggling to a different dimension. Literally
